Hi people

Not sure if this is the correct forum or maybe electronics but my question is this.
I have a pre-existing cooker hood with a recurculating (sic!) filter inside which is rubbish. I have had condensation issues in the kitchen already and have now extended out and am worried about further problems via steam smells etc.
What I want to know is can i remove the existing motor and retro fit a ducting fan pipe to the outside as I don't seem to be able to find any kits that include an extractor fan suitable for a hood - they all seem to be for walls or bathrooms. I can find hood ducting kits but without any extract fans attached.
Also my hood is attached to a wall that backs on to a flat roofed garage would this be a problem to duct out to?

Hope someone can advise - kind regards
Jamie

Maybe I'm missing something here, but the majority of cooker hoods have both a recirculating facility (with a carbon filter before the motor fan) and an external extraction, and all that's needed is to reposition some internal ducting within the hood to allow the pong to be pushed into a duct vented to the outside. The exit may be on the back or top of the hood.
As for the duct position, if you are close to an external wall there's no problem with using either solid or flexible trunking.
John :)
