We will get the electrician to come in and connect/check stuff but I want to minimise this time -

I need to lay out the cable for a kitchen extractor fan - can this come off the ring main or is it wired into the CU independently.
I need to know what parts/switches to order.

Can we use 2.5mm T/E for this appliance and does it go straight to FCU and then to a fused switch - what Amp switch is required?

We need advice on fans and economical purchases - I think scottish building regs require a higher extraction rate than England - I think this is 68l - would anyone have any views on makes and models ie: vent-axia v's xpelair, etc - we don't want an automated thing just a simple wall mounted product that we can switch on and off when required.

thanks

can be on a FCU form the ring main and wired using 1.5mm. fuse as approperiate to the power rating of the fan
