kitchen lighting new picture

Perfectly acceptable to do it like that. A couple of questions though.

1. where you have laballed "ring main" is this in fact, the lighting circuit?

If you are wiring off the lighting circuit, it wont need the FCU, and the lights arent on a ring main, its a radial circuit.

If you do wire from a ring main, the light switch should have a sticker on it saying something like "isolate from 2 locations". So i recommend taking the feed from the lighting - it makes it much simpler.

If you want to take the feed from a 32A ring main, you cant take a feed to a 5A light switch like that. Do post again if you need to do it this way, and we will tell you how.

Apologies it should indeed say lighting circuit. I have been extending the ring main recently and seem to have that word etched in my mind.

I wasn't sure about the FCU but thought i could use it to connect the cable from the transformer to but i suppose i could just use a normal surface mounted connection/junction box....would this be right.

Thanks again

Trevor
