Kitchen overhead filter.

Help or advice please.

Just had a new kitchen fitted. All in okay.
I was supplied with a ``Candy'' overhead filter which will be wired in by a Part P spark.
I have noticed that the filter only has live and neutral 2 core wire - no earth.
Does it need earthing?

It is a class II appliance and does not need earthing so don't worry about it

Thanks for the reply Pompey. I will let my missus plug it in and stand well back.

As it does not have a moulded plug, fit a 3A fuse & make sure you get the blue/brown the right way round.

Yesterday I found 4 separate examples of incorrect polarity, both in plug tops and sockets, all at different addresses.
