Kitchen Plinth/under canbinet lighting

Hi

I was after some advice. I would like to wire my plinth and under cabinet lighting on the same circuit. I would like to go straight off the downstairs lighting circuit and have a 2 gang light switch that will control my main kitchen light and the other controlling the plinth/under cabinet. I haven't brought the lighting yet but I understand that they are controlled from a normal 3 pin plug. Can I wire straight into 1 transformer that will supply all the lighting (except main kitchen)?
