I've got a non-load bearing single thickness brick wall at the back of my garage which I want to remove part of, to provide access to a cupboard which is currently accessible from the garden. This will then give me access to the rear garden without having to come through the house.

Question is, what's the best way of getting a neat edge on both sides. How should I cut the bricks?

Thanks.

Does your garage have a ridge? Is there a window centred in the wall?

1. You could cut the brickwork with a hired Stihl cutter.

Your new door frame would determine dimensions.

2. Or, you could tooth out the brick work and bed back in all the halves.

Your new frame width would have to meet the perps.
