knocking wall down .....advice needed

I have a garage that has had a small shower room built onto the back of it....i want to knock it through to make the garage bigger. ....the wall i want to take down has a wooden beam running the length of it...basicly sitting right along the top. ..the garage roof is just a clap board and felt roof.....im leaving a section at each side for the beam to sit on .......i reckon it will be ok to knock it down ....but wondered what the experts thought. ...
