Hi

I'm having a new boiler fitted in kitchen cupboard. Like for like so straight swap. I've had a quote come in and it has included a powerflush. It's a small one bedroom property with a total of 4 radiators. No breakdown of costs - just all lumped together.

Previously, I've had a boiler swapped out and it's just been around half a day. Is it reasonable to expect that the boiler swap out and the powerflush of four rads can be done in one day?

that is a boiler slinger throwing the boiler at the wall, pay to get the job done properly

My last boiler was installed in around that amount of time, I was there, generally assisting and I absolutely cannot fault the work done - I am very critical. It was almost a straight swap - flow and return had to be crossed in the tight space above the boiler and a filter added. I had prepared the area and removed its cupboard before hand/ refitted after.

Is that part absolutely necessary? Some installers insist it has to be done, but without any absolute reason for it to be done. My system definitely didn't need flushing, but several potential installers were insistent that it would need flushing without even visiting.

All new boiler installs need flushed and properly commissioned, not just topped up and turned on

Why, if a system is spotlessly clean?

I had already drained my system completely in preparation and nothing but clear water came out from all the drain points.

So your installer didnt do the complete job then, but you are on here quoting times to do half the job

No, I am agreeing with time to install the boiler only. I enquired about the necessity of a power-flush.

I don't feel a powerflush is totally necessary but I will have it done as I don't want any comebacks.

I just wanted to know if for a straight swap out and powerflush of the system (4 rads) could be done in a day.
