Labours EU deal

Starmer flies the white flag again. He really is trying to upset as many voters as possible

And surrendered our fishing grounds. Yep, goodbye Labour.
brexiteers went on about the fact that after brexit the uk would be free to do deals with all countries in the world...

Well guess what...

The countries that make up the trading bloc known as the EU are part of that world...

And when deals are done there has to be give and take...

The fishing grounds have not been surrendered, there have been compromises over quotas...

It's the same old story...

brexiteers always focus on relatively small/insignificant issues (fishing is 0.03% of GDP) because overall the proverbial brown stuff has hit the fan since they stomped their feet in such an ignorant manner!

Post Brexit, we are free to trade with whoever we like, including the EU.
If we don't like Starmer's deal, we can always vote him out.

The fishing issue has always been extremely complex.

But it looks like this deal just extends for another twelve years the agreement made by Boris Johnson.

Hopefully, other parts of the new EU agreement will make it easier for our fishermen to export to the EU like before Brexit.

The fishing issue has always been extremely complex.
Indeed...

And it may come as a surprise to brexiteers, but fish don't abide by lines on the territorial fishing map...

Large numbers are currently moving north due to warmer sea temperatures, out of uk waters and into EU/EEA waters...

Does anyone recall brexiteers claiming Norway had surrendered their fishing grounds when they did a deal with the uk to allow our fishermen quotas in their waters?

As an EU member we were completely free to trade with whoever we liked

As a member or shops were full of goods from China, India, America, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, New Zealand, Canada, Japan......

where were we unable to trade??

If Starmer can mitigate some of the damage caused by Brexit, he may not be a total waste of space after all.
actually very hard to do as 80% of the damage is a result of leaving the SM

but I guess a bespoke deal might help even though the EUh ave always denied the possibility
