Hi,

Is it standard to put foam lagging around boiler feed and return pipework if they are routed in the loft?

My boiler is in the kitchen and hot water cylinder in a bedroom over the otherside of the bungalow. It's routed via the loft. Just curious as to whether foam lagging is of any help to improve efficiency etc?

With existing pipes it's often difficult to get foam lagging around them. I secure the space blanket style insulation over them.

I was just unsure as to whether it would be worth the cost. Its going to be a bit tricky, but will give it a go!

It's always worth to insulate pipes in the loft. I had been called out to 23 burst pipes over the weekend. Everyone of them was due to people not insulating pipe work.
