Laminated my 5 metre hall leaving an expansion gap, most of which hidden under the skirting. In just a few days the floor 'migrated' to one end leaving a gap at the opposite end. I repositioned it, 'fixed' one end with silicone perimiter sealant and it's stayed put ever since......
Now then, my daughter has a 'new build' with laminate throughout the ground floor where all of the shirting board perimiters have a neat bead (approx 5mm) of silicone. Does anybody know if this an alternative fixing method or is it particular to the type of laminate she has? (one join was damaged a while back and reveals what appears to be a plastic or polyeurethane substrate).
I'm about to do the dining room and am looking for some guidance
