laminate worktop joint gap filling - clear silicon?

Hello

I recently had a laminate worktop fitted with butt joints at corners. When this was done, the builder used glue for the butt joint. He did not use colorfill. After the pieces were joint together, there was a small visible gap (i.e. not flush!) and at this point he used colorfill to fill the gap. The problem is that the colorfill has not adhered well and keeps pealing away, and repeated filling on my behalf is making no difference and I am worried water will get in and the worktop will bubble. Can I simply apply a bead of clear silicon on TOP OF the existing colorfill to prevent any problems.... or are there any other solutions?

if it was mine i would gently remove any color fil using a filling knife or the like.
then using this sealant gently squeeze it into the gap,smoothe it flat then just before it totally drys using white spirit and a cloth wipe the joint.
its good gear i use it all the time now.

absolutely,i dont use colorfil anymore.purly as you have found any movement(which there shouldnt be)and it cracks.this stuff is like a mastic sealer,AND it sticks like s..t
