Afternoon all,

Just had a new kitchen fitted, and lovely as it is, I now need to lay laminate to finish it off.

Now, I have experience of laying laminate in living rooms and bedrooms but never a kitchen, so when I come up against a kitchen unit end panel that is down to floor level, how much gap do I leave?

I laid it out with a 10mm gap but it looked awful, such a big gap just made it look badly finished and cheap.

The flooring is Helvetica Flooring 8mm click lock. I am leaving 10mm around the walls as there will be skirting so covering above it. But around the base of the units it looks stupid.

I will also be cutting the floor under the plinths up to the unit feet rather than just cut it up to the plinth itself, if that makes sense.

Thanks

Yes that’s what I was going to say. If you can’t get the panel off undercut it.
