Hello all.
I'm just about to lay new tongue and Groove floorboards and I would like to know whether these are to be fitted all tight upto to one another or is it advisable to leave a small gap (ie 1mm or less) to allow for movement. Movement would be shrinkage and expansion of the wood between winter and summer months.
Thanks
Andy

Don't leave any gaps between the boards if you are nailing them to the joists - nor if you are glue them - remember to leave a gap all around the outside though (by the skirting).

i would recommend hiring some floor cramps, thus making sure they are tight when fitting.
