I cannot think of an easy way on your own. Why don't you use torch on felt it will be less hassle on your own.

Did my flat roof with epdm, 4m X 7m, a struggle on my own, carrying it up the ladder was the toughest bit.[It was in one piece]

Its do able but a hard days graft. Keeping the pot right and up and down like a blue arse fly is knackering.

Thanks all for the help and advice.

If I was to try laying felt with hot bitumen single handed would you still use the pouring can similar in shape but as you know a lot sturdier and heavier than a watering can, and if so should it say be half full, and what size, or would you use a metal jug and again what size.

Cheers-Bob

Bucket for big runs, can for small runs and insulation. Mop for details but the northerners use a wok type pan or jug for details.
