LCD Projector connected to laptop

Hi, It's my daughters wedding soon and we want to play a DVD at the reception. The Hotel have a projector and screen, but I will have to supply the laptop.
My question is will the projector work without any additional software, is it just a case of plugging it in to the VGA output or will I need drivers.
Laptop is XP, I don't know the make of the projector.

the projector should act just like an additional screen plug in the VGA outlet and you should be ok, you might have to adjust the resolution on your laptop to get the best fit, good luck with the wedding day.
