Thanks for all your help, although i am more confused now with the conflicting solutions. I have had someone in to disconnect all the live lead run to get the boiler back on. Now just waiting for a new copper feed to be put in for the cooker point. Again many thanks for the advice from you all.

Yep ,get help from a new GREYHOUND registered technician gas engineer,(stands for ,Gas Regulations European Yardstick,for HOU sing,& Normal Domestics, (Gas installations,)he,ll be able to do this blindfolded with one arm tied behind his back,some of these men have served over 7 years full apprenticeship training with the old school of a select few gas pipefitters.
