Leak on 3/4" connection to shower.

I used PTFE on this joint but it leaks. If I were to use fibre washers inside it I would need 5 or 6 to fill the gap.

What would you plumbers recommend to seal this?

How many wraps of tape did you use , I would wrap it 15 times
I persume it’s male to female

Yes, male on the left, female on the shower to the right.

I'm sure I did less wraps than 15, maybe only 7 or 8.

Tightening it more till there is no gap behind the flange could work,unless the male thread has bottomed out.

But better to remake the join with as mentioned with much more ptfe and wind enough ptfe behind the flange to create a gasket,
