Leaking tap connectors

Installing new 15mm pipe to basin taps, with 3/4" tap connector on end attaching to base of tap.
I can't stop the tap connector leaking. I've wrapped much PTFE tape around the joint and threads which helped a little, but it's still weeping. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you fitted in the fibre washer in the tap connector?

should that read 1/2" tap connector on end attaching to base of tap.
