Hi folks. As per the subject, I've just fitted a new towel radiator, but both tails keep leaking (where screwed into the rad), despite using PTFE tape. This is the first time I'd had an issue with any of our rads, so am looking for some advice on stopping the leaks....

Would you recommend the use of something like No Nonsense Liquid PTFE or would Fernox LS-X be better suited? Or is there another worthwhile option?

Thanks for your advice.

How many wraps of PTFE did use?

...and did you wrap it round in a clockwise direction as you look at the tail with the valve furthest away from you?

Use some gas ptfe - much better, and smear with a bit of jointing compound.

Like mickyg Loctite 55 string every time.

Only problem with DIY and small jobs is it dries out if the lid is not kept on, and with age.

It looks like kevplumbs been yanked off his computer now by his better half. So you should have a while.
