Leaky Roof

Hi, I've had 4 roofers do work on my roof and it's still leaking, I can't afford to get yet another roofer in, any suggestions?
Someone said it could be coming through the air vent on the chimney - can rain get in here? (we have no chimneys in the house just the chimney stack)

If the chimney has poor pointing or loose lead flashing then rain can penetrate the chimney breast, where is the damp showing inside?
Was that 4 different roofers? or a team of cowboys.
Some photo's inside and out with description would help.

As above,

in many places pics are becoming standard for inspections/quotes for the more inaccessible house areas such as roofs.

Likewise, some roofers now do a before and after set of pics or vid's.
Perhaps, make pics a condition of any initial roofer visit and quote?

Why not go in the loft and examine the remaining c/breast and the roof area.

Air bricks on the face of the stack are usually not a source of damp. As above, pointing, flashing and flaunching are suspect.

I remember that older properties in N. Wales often had sand and cement fillets (v. bad) instead of lead flashing.
