Least Surprising News of The Day..

I guess there will always be some from both sides that change their PoV after the event.

I know people who happily voted for Tony Bliar, and they were mostly pleased but regretted it over the WMD scandal.
So do you believe that the electorate has a right to have another vote?

So do you believe that the electorate has a right to have another vote?
And another? And another until you get the result you personally want? Nah, its not best of three.

I do believe Sir Kier has accepted the Brexit vote now. Why can't you lot - it's not going to change no matter how much you whine about it. Move on.

Conversely, why do you think that those that voted to leave have now changed their minds if they were so convinced in 2016
No staying power? Short term views? Thought things would be different from day one? Lost the will to live listening to the 4 years of whining? Who knows? Who cares? Not me, obviously!

Leaving the so-called "EU" will always be the correct choice for every country in it. It belongs in the dustbin of history, then burnt with hydrochloric acid thrown over it. The so-called "EU" is an affront to the galaxy.
Does the same apply to US states all going it alone? And what about Ozzie states? The Russian states? etc.

So do you believe that the electorate has a right to have another vote?

Brexers did, that's why they liked the 2016 one, after 40 years of whining and moaning.

I doubt we will have to wait 40 years for the next.

.... No party shows any signs of wanting to change anything of that nature.
The Labour party have proposed repairing and deepening trade relations with EU
And the Lib Dems have produced a road map for re-joining, but that road map could be many years long. Even the first step requires lots of political dancing.
The Liberal Democrats are to set out a roadmap for Britain to rejoin the European Union single market – reversing the most damaging parts of Brexit.
The party’s spring conference is expected on Saturday to back a policy calling for the UK’s economic reintegration into the EU once “the ties of trust and friendship are renewed”.
....
A new policy paper backed by the party’s leadership says that “the best option, bringing most benefits to the UK economy and society, is to seek to join the single market”.

Any further movement down that roadmap concentrates on repairing the damage done so far.
The first step of the roadmap calls for “immediate” initiatives to repair the UK-EU relationship, including granting full settled status to EU citizens and ramping up the British presence in Brussels.
The party would then gradually phase in UK-EU cooperation on issues like the Erasmus Plus university programme and the caring for of asylum seekers.
It would then push for a series of reciprocal deals on issues such as the recognition of professional qualifications, fast-tracked work visas, and a veterinary agreement.
Only then, “once the trading relationship between the UK and the EU is deepened, and the ties of trust and friendship are renewed”, would the party seek to join the single market, while remaining outside the European Union itself.

And another? And another until you get the result you personally want? Nah, its not best of three.

He hasn't been content with the damage caused by Brexit and will seek to repair the relationship with EU.

The results of the referendum cannot be changed, no. The damage to the UK can though. We don't need to blindly follow the same downward trend as if it were a Brexer dying wish. Being told by financial heavyweights that Brexit is damaging the UK and that 1 in 5 people now regret voting for the clusterfook, is not good news.
We need to talk about all the things that damage the UK, including Brexit.

so its not down to brexit glad we cleared that up

crops rotting in fields. Yup down to brexit

Labour have an idea on the NI problem. It's not 100% but will significantly alter the scope of the problem.

During early talks some pundits thought that the Norway option would be taken. They reckoned it would reduce the amount going out and the UK could have it's seat on the WTO. ;) That is what was said anyway. Then comes get brexit done.

Frost, EU negotiator reckons he was the only one who said that an exit will make us poorer. Claims he said it all along.

Boris said now lets see if we can get the cost of living down. Odd comment really. Ok some stuff could be imported with zero tariffs but then comes Truss's deal with Oz and NZ. Cheaper meat yes but our own producers will find it hard to compete. This area means import import import to me.

Lib Dem

Probably pay to stay on that page and not go to the new one.

So why didn't you accept the result of the previous referendum?

Oh that's right, you'll claim that things changed...

Well things have already changed again and for the worse.
(You've still not shown us any brexit benefits, and you won't tell when any will happen)

If enough people pushed for another vote, would you deny the 'will of the people'?

After all farage said he wouldn't accept a 52/48 result if it went the other way, and would carry on campaigning.
Would you have kept on clamouring for another brexit vote if that were the case?

And it's irrelevant what Starmer thinks right now...

He ain't going to be around for long, and the next leader may decide to adopt the winds of change ;)

As for 'moving on', the UK has demonstrated it is going backwards fast!

But the thing is that is what you voted for...

Glad that has been cleared up!
