led outside lights ? what do you guys do normally ?

Hi ..just want to ask in practice what you guys normally do...i have a garden to light up with led mini floodlights ( halogen looking type- non pir)..on a activated switch...do you guys normally swa in and out of the lights ( worried about space and cutting hole into the light damaging ip rating ) or do you guys normally go to ip enclosure and flex to the light ( worried about fitting of enclosure into garden and damage by gardener...what in most case to you guys do...i normally would go latter but its a smallish garden and enclosures can look unsightly...any other connection ideas welcome...
