I had one guy insisted on me fitting 10 x 10W MR16 spot lights. Try as I could I could not convince him it would be dim. He said a 100W normal bulb would be enough why not 10 x 10W. Once done it looked like a planetarium and then he wanted bigger lamps which resulted in needing multi-transformers a real pain to re-do.

Learn from my mistake and use GU10 fitting then a lot easier to replace the LED lamps for cold cathode ones when they realise the light is useless.

I was showed some 45w Halogen equivalent LED's in a wholesalers recently,,, think they cost about £70 ea and they are aimed at commercial premises, I think the gumph said that they had a payback period of about 14 months @ 10 hrs a day; they also had a lamp life of something like 100,000 hrs
