The ring circuit is not a ring! If it were a ring then there would be two conductors at the mcb, neutral and earthg bars.

Maybe its the way you have drawn it, but the ring starts and ends in the CU, not outside.

Think about it, and try again

PS What is the double pole device at the top of the two diagrams?

Make it look like a ring final 1791899972753.pngI put in 6 sockets so you can't cut and paste. Get the words correct, get use to calling it a ring final, not just a ring, they are not the same.

It does not ask for a fused connection unit, so don't add one.

Excuse the messy lines but I will neat it up on fresh diagram if wiring looks ok now?

Maybe a stupid question, but in this diagram, wouldn't the sockets be always live?
The fcu would not stop electricity from going to the sockets.
Or am I seeing it wrong?

Hi I think that’s a fused connection unit. I believe we have spur of one socket to the fcu.

As pointed out, the FCU at the top is wired as a spur (like you have drawn it). And while you are allowed a spur from a point, you may not get full marks?

The FCU is likely to be there to connect some sort of appliance. (rather than control the sockets)

Its a crap question. It says 3 sockets to be connected. The double pole device is not part of the question.
The top should be a radial socket
I've never see a radial socket with two line and neutral terminals. That device is either a double pole switch, or a double pole FCU.
IF you want to include it then connect up the supply side as part of the ring.

The way you have sketched it is weird, with joints seemingly outside the sockets. Follow @ericmark diagram #8. There are no joints except for the socket terminals. They have asked for a WIRING DIAGRAM - eg they way that you would wire it.
You have sketched a functional connection drawing, you would never do it like that "on the tools".
