Levelling floors on first floor new installation

Hi All
I am trying to get to grips with the details of installation of the floors on the rebuild of the first floor of our house.

All of the old floor covering has been removed and we are fixing and replacing joists as required. The joists are spaced at 400mm centres.

The intention is to fit UFH in aluminium trays between the joists with 50mm celotex below and then cover with 20/6 engineered wood flooring everywhere except the bathrooms.

The bathrooms are where I am hitting the challenge. The plan to put an 18mm ply subfloor down with 6mm fibre cement tile backer boards over the top then tiles on top of that, 2mm adhesive + 10mm tile which gives a total depth of 36mm. This is 10mm thicker than the engineered wood floor finish.

How do we compensate for the 10mm difference in floor finishes? Have a step into the bathrooms? Add 12mm ply under the engineered wood floor which may compromise the UFH efficiency? Any suggestions or opinions gratefully received!

Generally you'd just plane-up a (wooden) transition strip at the entrance to the bathroom, or taper in the floor outside using one or more builds of flooring latex. Carpet will accommodate this easily
