Liar .............

After viewing the footage it is clear that exaggerated force was used when Harwood pushed Tomlinson. Was the push justified? From the contents of the footage, no.

Circumstances leading up to this are unclear. This will be revealed and analysed in court. Although to me the footage is what it is. Tomlinson walking away, hands in pockets, with his back to Harwood. Was he a threat to Harwood or anybody else at this point? Clearly not.

Harwood's past can only contribute in making sense of why this excessive force was used. Clearly there was no intention to achieve this awful tragedy but nevertheless, The actions of this man caused the death of an individual.

Personally I feel Harwood should serve time for this.

Still waiting for martian to care about those 333 deaths in custody after he 'cared' so much about only 4 deaths and berated others...

Still, nothing unexpected from a police apologist*

*one generalisation deserves another...

What about the 4500 coppers who've died this century protecting your a**e?
As has been said, only a fraction of those were actually killed by anyone intentionally...most died in a way that anyone else could do - just because they have a uniform on doesn't change that!

But for those that were intentionally killed, then hopefully the culprits were caught and jailed...

So I ask again...what do you say about all those who died in police custody?...Do you care about them?

Harwood did NOT intentionally kill Tomlinson.

Still nothing anything remotely approaching caring about those who died in custody I note...

How deep do you enjoy taking a truncheon?

Don't twist things and i'll answer your questions !!!

Not according to the Coroner's inquest where the jury returned a verdict of Unlawful Killing. However a Coroner's inquest only investigates the circumstances, it doesn't find guilt.

They weren't allowed to say 'who dunnit', only how it was done.

This verdict made the CPS look a tad amateur and they immediately went in into spin overdrive and stated that with all the new evidence revealed at the inquest there was now enough to put Harwood on trial.

Had the CPS, the Met police, the City of London Police and the IPCC done their job properly in the first place then this evidence would have been available within a few weeks of the death. Why these bodies didn't do a proper job is open to speculation but it certainly tends to suggest they are corrupt. Why they would want to protect somebody like Harwood is beyond me, I suppose they didn't want to upset the rank-and-file, they are quite militant in the Met, one wonders if one of them is posting on here.

Unfortunately for all the bodies above Coroners are still fiercely independent and have an annoying habit of getting to the truth when everybody else wants to sweep things under the carpet. The Government did try to change this recently but were beaten back. No doubt they will try again.

But what else could they return? Lawful killing? nonsense...

it was an accident....not at all intentional.... the shove was assertive... the kind of shove you'd see a copper make on a football crowd, or angry demonstrators... in this instance, Harwood didn't know Tomlinson was homeless, or that he'd tried to get to his hostel many times, Harwood knew none of that.... he took it on face value... and an assertive push would make the guy realise he should walk in the other direction.... instead of ignoring police commands...

If I pushed your missus on her face cuz I wanted to show off - would you be just a tad rankled?

you're like a cheerleader Joe... out to stir things up with irrelevant nonsense!!!

Shake your pom poms Joe !!!

Answer the question. If she got in my way in Tesco and I told her to 'fook off' then ran up behind her and pushed her as she walked away - what would you say?

Advantage Martian..... what you got Joe?

Nowt against you marty, but joe bums you all the tiime

No need for that. imamartian has a view on this that is perfectly valid. I feel that it is wrong but that is my view on things. This is why we have a jury made up to decide and not just one person. To say that the push was reasonable in the video is a bit of a flimsy argument though as Harwood does seem to move at speed and a bit of distance to push this man to the ground!
