Sounds like marketing speak to me. I find it unlikely that either lamp will contain the materials mentioned! Krypton is used in fog piercing arc/high intensity discharge lights on runways at airports, and platinum is just damned expensive and used in jewellery and catalytic converters! Although you probably wouldnt know about them. Do they do emmissions control in the states!!!?!?? 
Don't know of a non specialist krypton lamp in the UK
