light buzzing and flickering

Hi,
Thanks to this site i have just fitted my first dimmer switch and it works fine,except the bulb when turned down low flickers and makes a light buzzing sound. I do have an energy saving bulb in, would that make a difference? Thanks in advance. Mike
 
Sorry, have just looked in similar topics and think my question has been answered. Sorry
 
That dimmer switch won't be doing the energy saving bulb any good. Swap it back or change to an incandescent bulb.
 
The CFL wont do the dimmer much good either.


Dimmable CFLs are available :wink:
