Hey

While I was away the light in the bedroom stopped working. My wife assumed the bulb had just blown but replacing it hasn't worked. What's the best things to check to find the fault. I wondered if the switch needs replacing? Or perhaps the fitting?

Thanks in advance

A multi meter but first try a bulb that works in another room just to be certain the new bulb you've tried isn't faulty to - it can happen.

It could be any one of those things. Thinking of the most common problems:
What type of switch do you have?
What sort of bulb goes in the fitting, is it a screw in lamp, or is it a bayonet?

Do you have a voltage tester or a multimeter?

Hey thanks for the replies

No voltage reader I'm afraid. New bulb is fine (it's bayonet). Switch is just a big standard switch.
