sorry for the late reply and yes! Swapping the the red and yellow has worked! Thank you!
The switch faceplate has an earth terminal - that needs to be connected to the earth terminal in the box then, via a short wire. You cannot rely upon the screws to provide an earth to the face and when the face is removed (as in the photo) the face has no earth at all.
