While redecorating recently I found that my bathroom light is wired as follows:
2 twin and earth cables are routed into a wall mounted switch outside the room. The reds of the two cables are across the switch terminals and the blacks are joined together with some chocolate block. One of the cables is providing the supply from the consumer unit (via other light fittings I assume) and the other goes off to the light fitting's ceiling rose.
Now this seems to be working ok, but am I right in assuming that the normal method of installation is to have the supply connected direct to the ceiling rose and only one cable then routed from the rose to the switch ?
Is the way it's wired a recognised method ?
