Perhaps a picture of the switch so that we can see where all the wires go might show why the security camera does not work.

literally.... the switch. The left switch is the cctv camera which is left “on”

The camera detects cars/people/movement etc and records no problem so the sensor is ok. I can manually turn the lamp on in the settings but the lamp sensor doesn’t work. So when someone walks past, it records hit the light doesn’t turn on.

We can't tell much just looking at the front of the switch . Yes ,the wiring / back of the switch terminals. And turn off the power before removing the switch off the wall.

Well I did this in the kitchen about a year ago. Is this ok?

Don't twist the conductors ,and no bare copper should be visible outside the terminal block. But that's pretty much what you need to do on your new fitting.
