Hey guys just wondering if anyone could help
I took a light down in my house today and the ceiling Rose was crumbled and cables literally fell out as I touched it
I had to put them on connector blocks
I have 3 cables coming in to the ceiling rose
I connect all cores on connectors separately I have found that the supply goes directly to this light
Therefore have found this is perm live and neutral
I now got 2 cables coming in
I have an other light in the room if I connect a live to my perm the other light comes on through the switch therefore I've found my live and neutral on this one too so connect it directly to the perm live and neutral
Am I right so far?
Lastly one cable left red blue and earth , I connect the red to the perms it trips I connect the blue to the perms it also trips ? Surely one of these would be taking supply to the switch and one back up?
Also before testing etc the cables were just put together assuming they were right it tripped and the switch will not switch , would this even be a case of it tripping on the last cable?
Thanks in advance guys please tell me if I'm doing anything wrong
Thanks again!
