Lighting wiring problem

Useless at wiring and electrics and have no idea how to wire a simple light to the ceiling in my flat. Please have a look at the diagram and give me some advice on how I should do this. I tried wiring all 3 live wires with the switched live wire and then connecting to the light - didn't work. Please help!!!

Thanks, looked through all the diagrams but couldn't find one which matches my wire configuration from the ceiling.

With that admission, you need to do more than just look at wiring diagrams here, you need to buy a few books and understand the basics first.

Or get a qualified guy in.
