I have seen this done before is it still ok to do?
When wiring a lighting circuit run all ends (switches/fittings) back to a twin surface box with cover plate make all connections in the box all lives together in a 30a block all neutrals in a 30a block all earths in a 30a block then return from switches to feed of lights
This gives you a single cable to connect to at the fitting and therefore makes things easer than messing about with loop in systems.

Providing the joint is accesible it is OK but it is an outdated way of doing things.

Thanks for that
Just fed up with messing about with 3 cables when changing fittings
And in most modern fittings you just don’t have the room to make the connections

You should either wire it loop in at the switch or use double covered singles.
