So following advice from a previous post I've decided I'm going to attempt to point my fireplace brickwork using a lime mortar type product. I've cleaned the brick the best I can. It's quite uneven with varying joint thickness but hopefully I can make a half decent job of it. I've used a bit of the kids playdough to show the kind of finish that I would like to achieve. I think I can generally blend this to the unevenness of the brick.does anyone have experience with what would be best product to use and application technique. Ie do I use any type of unibond before application or wet it all down first . Also do I keep it damp once applied. Only ever used sand and cement mortar so any advice would be very much appreciated
