Lime scale removal from tiles

Hi not sure if anybody can help but I am trying to clean the tiles in our showers they have a rough finish at the moment as living in Norfolk we suffer from really hard water so they have lost there shine and feel rough have tried quite a few cleaning products but not got anywhere so any advice would be great.

She who must be obeyed swears by Viakal, as with anything though try a small area first in case the tiles are limestone or something!
