We have one of these Vokera boilers and it has worked fine until recently. Our landlord is supposed to sort this but we have had to pay less rent recently and he says we have to fix it.
Quite suddenly it wont light and comes up code 04. The pressure guage reads just over 1 bar varies very little and there are no leaks anywhere.
The only thing happened recently was one of the kids pulled one of the rads off the wall. I refitted it and all was ok for about a week then this 04. I turned the hot water to Zero and it came on. now it goesnt come on whatever I do. BRRRR
Any ideas anyone

The 04 is a lack of pressure!

The presure switch in the boiler is probably full of dirt.

Pressurising to 1.5 Bar might cause it to reset, perhaps after a few hours.

Not paying the rent, pulling radiators off the walls? Are you tenants from hell ?

Ha ha err no! We are a small private college. One of the students tripped and grabbed the rad. I plugged the pipes and the wall (stud) refitted and screwed everything back together, yes I prefilled the rad, and asll was good
Then a couple of weeks later this.!!!

The gauge runs between .8 bar to about 1.2 bar and hasnt changed to be honest.
However, thanks for your quick response. Where do I find said pressure switch to clean and is there a re pressurising procedure I can follow.

Thanks again

Op, your boiler does not necessarily have a pressure switch

Check the pump is running, check auto air vent is venting, check switch atop the flow manfold is operated by the spindle ( switch can go wonky).

A pressure switch might be fitted in place of the flow switch, if it is, suggest you check this but I have yet to encounter a blocked one yet. Might be the case but I have yet to encounter one, so you could check that too like tony suggests.

It could also be that the pump is stuck this will also show a 04 code get an experienced vokera engineer out it ia a very easy boiler to fault find on

Easy to fault find on.

Not very easy to deal with the usual jammed and/or blocked valves/pipes underneath.

It recently took me nearly an hour to deal with one. Since it still worked the mean landlord will not pay for a replacement valve which is needed.

At least the lithuanian tenant was so pleased and gave me a box of chocolates! I thought she was going to kiss me but luckily she did not!

Tony what has 04 got to do with following?

The fill valves on these fail regularly. I think the non return valve sticks.

If the 04 is relating to low pressure it may not be simple to top up

Well that was my point. according to the gauge the pressure is ok.

Thanks again for the useful pointers guys.
I'll remove the covers and check all these things out on Monday
Failing a result I will probably get a qualified engineer out to it.
It's too bleeding cold not to 8)

Gasservice, fill valve sticking bot a problem. If one not to hand fit a tee and double check valve. Have doine this if on once.

By the way, carry a large stock of often needed parts for this make as regularly carry out all sorts of work on many Vokera models. If stuck, Heat Spares have what I need.

As the OP points out, pressure is fine. 8)

That's what I do. Easier yo cut in a tee

Pressure may appear fine on gauge, although he has said it goes up and down. So probably is fine

Hi all. thanks for the discussion.
Yesterday I took the cover off and checked all the connections pipe joints etc
and found nothing untoward, in fact everything looked amazingly clean.
Returned cover, switched on......code 04....errrrr right!
Walked away in disgust and left it flashing..
After about an hour it suddenly fires up and runs for 4 hours until I switch it of to go home. no code showing
Today switch on at 9 am, it won't start. I leave it again and around the same time. 1 pm, up it fires again and runs all afternoon.
Could it have something to do with the timer?
It is something I have never touched as I fire up and shut down manually, but I suppose someone else could have fiddled with it.
TBH the writing is too small to see properly and I've never had much luck with timers, that's why I operate it manually.
Oh forgot to add, the pressure reading was pretty steady at close to 1.2 bar
Just a thought.

have you been using the central selector switch to switch off.

if so when you turn to the off position does the screen go blank?

often these switches have the spindle snap so the selector doesn't do anything

You mean the central switch between the hot water heat setting and the CH heat setting? well yes.
Normally when I switch on the light goes green and it fires up. more recently the light goes orange and 04 flashes on and it doesn't light.
When I switch off all goes off.
Like I explained before, I left it flashing 04 and after an hour (both days) it fired up and ran perfectly with all 9 rads hot within 10 mins.
Thats why I wondered about the timer thingy.
