Lining a room with Celotex/Kingspan

There is a lot of confusion regarding when, where and why vapour check barriers need to be used.

The whole point of vapour bariers is to stop humid air and moisture from getting through a lining to a timber frame or timber roof or timber something and causing the conditions for mould and rot of the timber.

No mould is going to rot a masonry wall, and no mould is going to be an issue on a masonry wall, more more significantly, the conditions for mould to occur just wont be there when insulating a masonry wall.

Nah, even with battens, the conditions are not there for mould.

No. Why would you even think that?

'cause a mate who has completed work including interior surface insulation has had to do in an open plan Welsh property.

Maybe the sort of open plan property with stairs coming into open plan area? A fire, which normally starts in a kitchen, would block the exit from the stairs. So nothing to do with the insulation?
