I get that you are angry the world knows he was white, I've seen the article and it explains why the police released the information.

Just accept it boyo and move on. You don't need to cover for him.

Far from it. Reckless - in both cases - but not apparently intentional. That’s why motorbiking - the forum legal expert - said attempted murder was unlikely to stick. The bloke appears to have responded to what he perceived as an attack on his vehicle by the crowd. A fight or flight situation. Many tradies would slap someone if they touched their van. In this case I suspect fight turned to flight fuelled by drink or drugs. Not attempted murder.

I reckon that is the version that will emerge.

Dangerous driving, driving while under the influence, maybe some offences against the person. etc. He will say he did a stupid thing and panicked when he was attacked and he is deeply sorry to all the people he hurt. 18 months in prison, unless someone dies.

They addressed this clearly - it was because of far right groups claiming on social media that it was a Muslim terror attack to incite attacks on Muslims, that they felt they needed to point out that it wasn't.

There’s a moral case for holding someone responsible for the direct consequences of their actions when drunk or under the influence of drugs. But the penalties for causing serious injury by reckless driving are very high - 14 years

Like I said, what happens the next time something like this happens and they don’t/wont immediately let everyone know the colour/ethnicity of the perpetrator? They've set a dangerous precedent.

We haven't heard much about the extent of the injuries. I can't see him sentenced to more than 2-3 with a guilty plea. - out in 18 months.
