At the moment you can go via the Middle East for peanuts, well a lot less than this time last year.
I can't understand why.

Some people want guaranteed sun and southern Spain is a few hours journey.
Same with skiing, snow and The Alps.
When folk look at the comparative costs for a UK holiday then a foreign holiday makes sense.

Having said that, we went to Whistler a few years back, skiing. I’m of the opinion that decent snow and slopes are the same, whether they are in another continent or not.
