Loft floor joist

Hello

I need advice before making building control application thinking to do the loft only bed and two velum windows i have first floor ceiling joist siting on single brick wall witch already sits on RSJ on ground floor as we did open plan on ground floor can I put joist hangers on one side and then the beam sit on brick wall then put another joist on other side and also put on brick wall and screw them together as original joist or just run one length 3.3m

Another question can I support current joist attaching new timber joists same size from external wall plate and let them sit on the middle brick wall ?

First floor Ceiling joist witch also sits from wall plate and on to the middle brick wall this brick wall is partition wall between the rooms witch is built on metal rsj

You need an engineer to assess the roof structure as you'll need to modify it and to check whether the steel supporting the central wall can carry the additional loads of the loft conversion. If you're not having a dormer you could probably support the outer ends of the new floor joists on the wall plates - you certainly can't hang them from the roof purlins.

The council will insist that everything is calculated.
 
Thanks for replay building control when cam to inspect steal beams on ground floor renovation told me that beam is overkill you can build 2 storeys above yes it’s only velux windows and double bed will be in the loft but thanks for reply

This seems tight. What head height to you hope to achieve at the apex when you have added floor joists, and roof insulation? And how usable will the space be if this is just at the apex?
