Loft light

Hi,

I have a twin socket in my loft as part of the upstairs ring main. My intention is to connect a flourescsent light from this socket via an FCU. I want to know what size of cable is required from the socket to the FCU and indeed the size of the cable from the FCU to the light? I need this information before I invite a sparky to assess the job.

I would hav ethought most people would have sought several estimates at which time you can ask each sparkie teh same question and seek what replies you get.

I would`ve thought it normal to have some background knowledge of any job you`d like doing?

2.5mm² T+E from socket to SFCU, 1mm² or 1.5mm² to the lights.. 3A fuse in the SFCU
assuming you are using the SFCU as the switch?
