just got back from london on sunday had a great time thank all you d.i.y.ers (done a show ,chicargo which all our gang though was fab ,had dinner on the river also brill, //www.diynot.com/wiki/. but one of party pointed out that all the traffic in london was made up of black cabs BUSES bikes and the odd car or van,we spend mose of the week in the west-end but till he said it,
we always though the traffic was nose to tail, so were has all the cars gone :confused: or it just us hillbillies talking daft.

depends exactly where you were.

some roads "normal" traffic is not allowed at certain times.
 
With the congestion charge/parking and traffic wardens, etc. most of us avoid it now.
you used to be able to park of a night up there on single lines, but most are gone now.
Most park elsewhere just outside the charging zones and commute in.
 
it's the most expensive city in the world for parking.

4 hours on a meter will cost you £16 in the west end.

They have removed most of the coin ones, you now pay by phone with a card at most locations.

I have tried the card ones, I think they are better.
No fafing for change, just a quick phone call and stay up to 4 hours
 
When I worked down the smoke in the eighties, I always found it quiet on weekends, weekdays FFS different planet.
