Whilst pulling off the blown plaster around a window, I noticed some loose bricks where they had been laid onto a piece of wood.

I've colour coded the wood with yellow and loose brick with blue..

No doubt over the years the wood has expanded and contracted and the bricks have moved...

Should I take the loose bricks out, re-lay them...

Fill the gap with expanding foam in between the window frame and the brick.

Or, just use expanding foam which will hold the bricks...?

Foam was invented for this scenario, i.e. where masonry meets wood.

Remember to wet the area first.
