losing the panic button on scantronic 9800

In the process of alterations and i wish to resite the current keypad until i purchase new system. Current system has panic button attached.

Can i lose this as new system wont require it. does it need to be removed in the programming?

Yes you can lose it and depending on what panel linked/programmed out.
