Am I the only one completely flummoxed by the sheer number of NHS apps?

It began with Systmonline, the surgeries app, which seemed to work sort of OK. Then along came Patches, the NHS app, all it seems suggesting they 'talk' to each other, but rather they screw each other up, one seeming to lock you out of the other. Then renal made a suggestion that I sign up for 'Patients know best'.

I recently moved surgeries, the new one uses the same Systmonline, so that at least partially transferred over, but seemed to lose, most of my old patient record. I used to email home BP readings, to my old one, but the new surgery just ignores such emails - they want them submitted via the long winded Patches system, besides which it seems only to half work. Likewise the NHS system, only seems to limp along, with only partial information.

Me, the poor patient, stuck in the middle, unable to make any rational sense of it all.

I have a problem with the Systmon system,

Their data base has an incorrect address for the pharmacy next to my cottage which means several letters are too often put through my letter box.

It seems that no one can correct this error. The pharmacy have tried without success, When I call Systmon "help" deak they say it hs to come from my GP surgery The surgery say it has to come from the NHS, NHS say it is not an option they have.

The NHS is a massive collection of different companies all with different software and tools, especially GPs. It is or will be a textbook example of the difficulty in tying together different IT systems.

It's bloody annoying alright but the direction of travel is good.

I don't know the names of them.

I just have the NHS app that links to my GP surgery, so I can order drugs, look at blood test results, send messages to the Quack, etc....

Slightly off topic... An old guy in my local has an old skool mobile. He gets text messages from his GP surgery. They include hyperlinks to tell him about appointments. I have to forward the SMS to my phone to open the hyperlink. I suggested that he inform the surgery that he doesn't have any internet access. He replied that he had and that they just give him a blank stare.

No great surprise there, it's one of my NHS pet hates. I get messages from NHS which tell me nowt, except to follow an hyperlink, then try to remember my email address, plus password, only to find it is a simple reminder of an appointment, one I was already well aware of.

Having received three such reminders of an appointment, I then got more texts saying the appointment had been cancelled, then a letter via the post also saying it was cancelled, this morning.

There are quite a few and they keep changing but I’ve found the main nhs app has most detail I.e. hospital and go surgery history, with reminder messages for appointments

I'm surprised. Under the Data Protection Act the Data Controller of the organisation which manages the database is legally liable to keep it accurate. The pharmacy should address their concerns to the Data Controller.

DPA won't apply, the incorrect information is about a business, not a person.

Inform the pharmacy that you will not be forwarding the letters anymore, mark them as return to sender and chuck them back in the post. Or talk to your postie.

It's the pharmacy's problem if they aren't getting post, make then deal with it.
