Our cold water pipes have recently started banging almost constantly (very loud like someone hammering on a door). Our plumber said the problem was a valve in the cold water storage tank & has just replaced the whole tank due to wear & tear but the problem remains.
We've tried running the cold taps which sometimes help but sometimes make it worse. Turning the stop cock off works temporarily but noise starts as soon as water turned back on.
Plumber is mystified (typically the only time noise seems to stop is when we manage to get plumber round). Any suggestions
