has any one not noticed that the Utility suppliers are send out million of these cheap and nasty Lights.

In the past couple of month i have been called out to several properties in my area of people complaining that there light are working in a couple of rooms.

i spent 3 hours check this person lighting circuit out and found nothing wrong with the wiring put it down to the pendent, changed that and still nothing.
got my voltage tester and checked what voltage we had and it was 222v with is fine as BS7671 in the appendixes for voltdrop is +/- 6% which we can tell is fine.

check the bulb over and the dame think don't work unless a voltage of 230v.

OK, all I've ever got from utility companies is good branded lamps such as megaman and phillips. Certainly not cheap.

Secondly, the megaman lamps in my bathroom will work at FULL brightness down to around 200 volts (when I'm having a shower).

CFLs are much more tolerant to supply fluctuations than filament lamps. They will at least flicker at low voltages. Most will flicker due to capacitive coupling on 2-way switch drops.

Did you check whether your customers had dimmer switches?

What is your native language? Your post has several fundamental errors that render it senseless.

Doh like i didn't think of that!!!!!

when has a Utilly company sent out top brands. never they are always sending out the cheap rubbish, even the 79p bulb you can buy are just as bad

You spent 3 hours checking a light circuit, then changed the pendant, before trying a different bulb?

The only people I know do that are $$$-per-half-hour call out concerns

The CFLs I got from British Gas were Philips lamps.

I have 4 CFLs from British Gas by Phillips.

I have two CFLs from Eon / the Mirror by Megaman.

Decent brands. Its not like they have got cheapo lamps and stuck their name on them, like the supermarkets do. All the lamps state they can run on 220-240 volts. And they dont suffer from dimming when the showers running, like filament lamps.
